At sea with USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), 19 February 2003 — Aviation Warfare Operator 2nd Class Jay Okonek, from Farmville, North Carolina, is lowered from an SH-60F Seahawk assigned to the “Eight Ballers” of Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron Eight (HS-8) during a search and rescue (SAR) swimmer exercise. Carl Vinson is currently conducting operations in the Pacific Ocean.
