The Strait of Gibraltar, 11 June 2003 — An AH-1W Cobra stands by to be launched if needed, as the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3) passes through the Strait of Gibraltar. Kearsarge and its embarked 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade (2nd MEB) are on an extended deployment following missions in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
