AH-1W Super Cobra
At sea aboard USS Bonhomme Richard
(LHD 6), 04 March 2002 —
Flight deck director, Aviation Boatswains Mate 3rd Class Thomas Sanchez from Fontana, CA, watches an AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter from the 7ldquo;Scarfaces” of Helicopter Attack Light Squadron One Six Nine (HMLA-169) depart the flight deck as it sets out to support U.S. Army troops in Afghanistan. Bonhomme Richard is forward deployed conducting missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Anaconda.
