AH-1W Super Cobra
At sea aboard USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD
6), 04 March 2002 —
Aviation Boatswain's Mate 3rd Class Tara Fernando from Laguna, New Mexico, launches an AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter from the “Scarfaces” of Helicopter Attack Light Squadron One Six Nine (HMLA-169) in support of U.S. ground troops in Afghanistan. Bonhomme Richard is forward deployed conducting missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Anaconda.
