U.S.M.C. AH-1W Sea Cobra

01 September 1989 — A Navy ordnance officer checks over an AIM-9 Sidewinder missile mounted on an AH-1W Sea Cobra helicopter on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa (LHA 1) during the combined Thai/U.S. joint exercise Thalay Thai ‘89. The helicopter is assigned to Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 163 (HMM–163), the reinforced aviation combat element of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU).
